I would like to share with you what I believe are the two most important rules in sports betting. I have learned these the hard way and hope you never have to!
1. The number one rule to sports betting is never risk more than you can afford!
My general rule of thumb is to take my entire bankroll and break it up into units. Professionals speak of betting units and usually 1 unit is equal to 1% of your entire bankroll. It is very important to stay true to this rule and never go on tilt.
2. Which brings me to my next important rule: Never go on Tilt!
We have all been there at one point or another, losing a significant amount of units on a last minute buzzer beater or a pointless touchdown with 20 seconds left with a team down by 40. As a sports investor you have to learn how to take the good with the bad and just roll with the punches!
